Soar Like An Eagle
B“It’s hard to soar like an eagle when you’re surrounded by a bunch of turkeys”. If you’ve never seen or heard this old sayin, you’ve undoubtedly secluded yourself in a box without access to the real world. I couldn’t help but be reminded of it when i read ( Isaiah 40:31 )…” But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” God wants you to hear this promise today ! Now, you might be thinkin,” God must not be talkin to me, cause ain’t no way i can run or walk in this Mississippi humidity and not grow weary or faint !” I hear you !👍 What he’s sayin is…for those who wake up each day and COMPLETELY place their faith and hope in Him, their strength, their freedom, their renewed vigor and determination, their joy, their resolve, their courage and fortitude WILL BE FOUND in Jesus Christ ! When Isaiah wrote this Scripture, Jesus hadn’t made the trip from heaven to earth as a baby yet…so “the LORD” was used as the vehicle to make all the believer’s dreams a reality ! Remember this: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit has always been and always will be…no beginning and no end ! ( John 1:1; Genesis 1:26-28; Revelation 22:13 ) We can accept this fact by faith, and “soar as eagles”…or, we can deny it and keep tryin to make sense of it and look like DODO birds, grounded forever. The art of soaring on eagles wings, running without getting weary and walking without getting faint, is a picture of the believer that “follows” Jesus out of an obedient heart. The one He loves and loves Him back WILL follow out of obedience ( John 14:23-24 ). “Partial obedience”, or “halfhearted obedience”, is and always will be, “disobedience”. To soar is to be free ! And the one that trusts fully in Jesus and lives “in Him” is “FREE INDEED” !! ( 2 Corinthians 5:17; John 8:36 ) A Christian is nothing more-nothing less, than a “little Christ” ! They are Christ’s little examples living on earth, carrying out His commands … to go round preaching and teaching His gospel and His commands and baptizing new believers (Matthew 28:18-20). We tell what we know, what we’ve experienced and seen…that’s what makes our testimonies believable ! ( John 3:11 ) We can’t tell about someone we don’t know. We can’t describe a feeling we’ve never felt, or convince someone of something we’ve never experienced ourselves. It’s God who gets their attention ( John 6:44 ). It’s God who gives us the mind of Christ and the words to say ( 1 Corinthians 2:16, Philippians 2:5-11; Matthew 10:20, Mark 13:11, Luke 12:12 ). It’s God who saves and grows a new believer … we’re to “plant the seed” and help direct em . Our actions will always speak louder than our words ( James 2:14-26 ). There’s no such thing as a “silent witness” ! Even creation knows God and exalts Him the best way they can ! God’s reminders surround us each and every day. How we respond to em is up to us .., and how we express God’s worth is evidence enough of our love for Him. Even though we try, God cannot be contained or controlled. He’ll never compromise or water down His rules, commands or statutes. His “code of conduct” is so much higher than this world’s standards…and how we live out our days here on earth will determine if we “soar”, or if we’ll choose to just dream about it while remaining within easy reach of the enemy ! Don’t let the enemy “clip your wings” ! Soar…as the LORD designed you to !! 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
